Our client, a global leader in physician-dispensed skincare, is looking for a Clinical Scientist – Scientific Affairs, to add to their growing R&D team. The position is based in Southern California.
Purpose of Position:
The Clinical Scientist- Scientific Affairs is responsible for coordinating clinical safety studies for all skincare brands domestically and internationally. This role will manage clinical safety studies with a focus on evidence-based practice and quality improvement. The Clinical Scientist- Scientific Affairs will provide clinical advice and expertise to both internal and external clients.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
This individual will be responsible for leading the design and execution of safety clinical studies and ensure that they are conducted according to standardized practices - meeting quality, medical, and regulatory requirements
Responsible for interpretation and reporting of study results, and making recommendations to the team
Responsible for careful selection of contract research organization (CROs) and data management for clinical safety projects
Manage and execute all safety testing
May grow into additional Clinical Efficacy management responsibilities.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in concentration in Chemistry, Medical, Pharmacy or other related fields. (Graduate degree preferred)
Minimum 5+ years related experience required
Exceptional organizational and prioritization/time management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Exceptional ability to make decisions based on incomplete or ambiguous data
Experience in Product Development
Experience in the most current clinical technologies and products used in the industry
Ability to work independently and develop new methodologies and processes is required
Must be detail-oriented; possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Takes the time to understand issues from different points of views before taking action
Is discreet; understands when confidentiality is required
High level of energy and initiative
A quick learner – is able to learn about the company (people and departments) quickly and accurately
